The Creative Dubai Hack Project
VFX conducted a future hack project that involved identifying the challenges & opportunities from various primary and secondary
research findings. The solutions and initiatives are collectively explored by the workshop with industry participants, supplemented with expert reviews and bench marking research around key creative economy concepts and implementation of similar initiatives in other leading economies.
The study was structured to provide Dubai Culture and its stakeholders with insights and ideas on the potential for Arts and Culture at a global level and highlight the relevance for Dubai. It is also structured to provide recommendations on steps that Dubai Culture should consider to initiate the evolution of the six identified priority sectors of arts and culture, and to capitalise on the emerging opportunities.
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) was launched in March 2008 and is focused on establishing Dubai as a regional and global centre for creativity, and also seeks to enhance the city's cultural identity in order to drive the creative economy.
